The Assyrian Riders, founded in Sweden, has now expanded its reach to become a global Assyrian organization with representation in Sweden, France, Germany and the United States. Our mission is to unite individuals who share a passion for motorcycles and a connection to their Assyrian heritage. Through shared experiences on the open road, members come together to foster camaraderie and a sense of belonging. Additionally, Assyrian Riders is committed to giving back to the community by actively participating in charitable endeavors and community events. The Assyrian Riders not only bring brothers together within a country, but also across borders, connecting Assyrian brothers abroad.
The Assyrian Riders is dedicated to preserving the memory of the victims of the Seyfo genocide, through an annual motorcycle run; Ride for seyfo. The Seyfo genocide, which occurred during World War I, resulted in the deaths of an estimated 750,000 Assyrians. The genocide also targeted other minority groups such as Armenians, Greeks and Yezidis, which resulted in the death of over a million people.
To honor the memory of the victims and raise awareness about the genocide, the Assyrian Riders organize a motorcycle run that takes place once a year in all the countries where Assyrian Riders is represented, such as Sweden, France, Germany and the United States. Ride for seyfo is usually run in metropolitan environments in order to attract attention and create discussion about the genocide and its aftermath.
The goal of Ride for seyfo is not only to honor the memory of the victims and raise awareness about the Seyfo genocide, but also to influence politicians to recognize the genocide and not give in to its deniers. The club members believe that it is important to remember the past in order to create a better future, and they hope that the run will inspire political leaders to take action.
Ride for seyfo is open to the public and is a solemn occasion that brings together members of the Assyrian community, as well as supporters of the cause, to remember the victims and raise awareness about the Seyfo genocide.
